Weddings by Roy Dressel Photography
They are the most photographed events in our lives, bringing family and friends together in a traditional day of ceremony and celebration. They range from the elegant to the down to earth, the lavish to the simple. No matter what style wedding you have chosen to have, it will be uniquely yours because you’re a unique couple. That variety is what makes this profession so dam much fun.
You’ll spend more time with your photographer on that day than with any other vendor, so make your selection with care. A great wedding photographer can make the difference between an easy stress-free day and one where you’re always looking over your shoulder. If you’re dreaming about finding someone that can create romantic portraits, images that will tell the story of your day that will last a lifetime, and one with the experience and skill to make that day stress free, then you have come to the right place. With over three decades in the wedding business, Roy Dressel Photography has the experience to make that dream a reality.
Over Three Decades of Wedding Photograph experience
Three decades is a long time, and in that period, I have photographed over fifteen hundred weddings. Each one of them unique in their own way. From weddings with over six hundred guests to a wedding with just six people total, including me. More than once I have gone home knowing all the names of every guest a the event. (OK, not that one with 600 people) I have photographed couples that had a dog as there ring bearer, done a wedding with no attendants and one with forty-two people in the wedding party (yes, 42) I’ve done weddings at the coast, at Crescent Meadow in Sequoia, at Convict Lake on the eastern Sierras and in just about every church in Visalia. I have had couples get married in 105-degree heat and winter cold.
I have seen the romance of all those couples blossom into marriage, heard the I dos and seen the tears of joy on hundreds of parents, brides and a few grooms (my son is one of them). I have known the thrill of capturing just the right image, at the right time of the day, with the sun just right (there nothing better than when it all comes together) That is the thrill that I find in wedding photography.
I have seen people lose the ring before the ceremony, have no music to walk down the aisle to, had one wedding where the preacher arrive an hour late, another where the goom was so sick he had to sit down during the ceremony and one who was taken to the hospital because of a virus.
This is not just a job, it’s not something that we, as wedding photographers (or any wedding vender for that matter) go to, put in our time and then go home. It’s not just another day. When I am finished with a wedding, I am drained, I have put out every ounce of energy to make that day special and record it in a way that the bride and groom will cherish for a lifetime. Over those more then thirty years, I have been lucky enough to have experienced so many life-changing moments in so many couples lives. No, it’s not a job, it’s the adventure.

100 Wallets Included With Every Package
Send out thank you cards and include a wallet photo with each one of them. Friends and relatives will put them up on the fridge and remember your wedding day over and over again.
Thank you for being a part of our wonderful wedding day. We were unsure if we wanted a photographer when we were planning, but now know that the memories are invaluable.
You were very easy to work with and helped us avoid stress during our ceremony. The plan you brought to us allowed us to focus on other things and enjoy the day. We are very happy with how Lilah (their young daughter) was included in our photos and how much of the day we can look back on.
The book is beautiful, we could not ask for anything better. Thank you for how quickly you got us the pictures by email and for everything.Jocelyn, Arlo and Lilah
Albums and Press Books
In today’s digitally connected world, where everyone looks at images on their phones and tablets, why have an album or book? Because your phone is no substitute when it comes to the memories of your wedding day. Your wedding is not just another trip to the beach. It’s the most important day in your life. We offer an album or press book with all our packages above the basic because we know how important they will be to you as the years go on.
The engagement is part of the journey of getting married. That romantic time in your lives where you learn to introduce him or her as your fiancee. It’s a special time so plan an engagement session where you can create images that are uniquely yours. Bring props, pick a place that tells your story. We offer engagement sessions locally, at the coast or mountains or desert.

Ever since I can remember, I have always had a camera in my hand. From simple box cameras to DSLRs, from shooting with medium format film cameras to my phone. I worked on the yearbook and newspaper staff in high school and in collages, even edited a magazine and won some awards at the state journalism association of community colleges while at COS.
I spent fifteen years selling cameras at stores like JCPenney and Main Drug in Visalia before deciding that I didn’t want to work for anyone else. In 1984 I decided I needed a little extra money, what with two kids. I decided that I would start photographing weddings in my spare time (did I have spare time with those two boys). Pretty soon I realized I loved weddings and somewhere in there decided that I wanted to make this a full-time gig. In 1993 I was able to do that, working out of my house for a couple of years before opening my studio on Main St. in Visalia in 1996, where I still am today. In 2011 I married the love of my life, my partner, Javonna and we live today in Fresno. I still have those two kids, added another one and they all work in my business to some extent.
